What you will be responsible for

As Software Engineering & Development Lead, Vice President you will:
  • Lead a software engineering team responsible for enhancing and supporting a business-critical portfolio accounting and middle-office application.
  • Drive the planning and execution of application modernization initiatives, evolving a Windows-based Visual C++ platform toward a modern distributed architecture with web-based user experiences and Java-based services.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, architecture, infrastructure, and risk teams to deliver strategic technology solutions aligned with business priorities.
  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable, maintainable, and operationally resilient software solutions.
  • Oversee solution design, software development, production readiness, and operational stability.
  • Lead Agile delivery activities, including release planning, estimation, prioritization, and execution across global teams.
  • Mentor engineering talent and foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Communicate technology strategy, delivery progress, dependencies, and risks to senior leadership.
  • Evaluate and adopt modern engineering approaches, including AI-assisted development capabilities, automation tooling, and cloud services where appropriate to enhance development efficiency and platform capabilities.

Provide hands-on leadership and support during critical delivery initiatives and complex production challenges.

  • Strong understanding of investment accounting, portfolio accounting, financial reporting, and related business processes within the financial services industry.
  • Proven experience delivering technology solutions for financial services organizations, particularly in accounting, investment operations, regulatory reporting, or middle-office platforms.
  • Extensive experience in enterprise application architecture and distributed systems design.
  • Strong programming background in Visual C++ and Java, with demonstrated experience modernizing large-scale legacy applications.
  • Database experience with current Oracle DB versions, including SQL, PL/SQL Development, and other Oracle services/features.
  • Experience designing and implementing:
    • Event-driven architectures
    • Microservices and domain-driven design principles
    • High-performance and low-latency systems
  • Strong understanding of transaction processing, reconciliation, data integrity, and accounting-centric system design.
  • Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems with high throughput and strong reliability requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Azure cloud services and modern DevOps practices, with an understanding of how cloud technologies can support enterprise application modernization.
  • Experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar technologies to improve developer productivity, code quality, and software delivery effectiveness.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.


Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience developing enterprise applications and large-scale data processing solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience working in multi-platform, multi-database, and multi-language application environments.
  • Experience leading Agile software delivery teams and adhering to SDLC, governance, and risk management processes.
  • Hands-on experience with modern web technologies, including ReactJS or similar front-end frameworks, as well as microservices concepts, including Spring Boot or similar platform.
  • Experience designing and delivering enterprise solutions utilizing cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native services, CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, application security, and observability practices.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, microservices, and service-oriented application design.
  • Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, including automated testing, DevSecOps, and AI-assisted development workflows.
  • Experience within the financial services industry, with exposure to investment accounting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, or capital markets platforms strongly preferred


Additional requirements
  • Regular collaboration with offshore teams in India and China, as well as management and technical teams on the U.S. East Coast, is required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, motivating, coaching, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to build partnerships across business and technology organizations.


Work Requirement
  • Onsite 2 days a week in office and three days remote
  • Standard business hours aligned to project and stakeholder needs(8am to 5pm)


Salary Range:
$125,000 - $215,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the location above, the applicable range could differ.
