Standard Job DescriptionWhat We're DoingOur Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Regional Applications team, is constantly engineering, developing and integrating new capabilities for the U.S. Missile Defense System, protecting both the United States and its allies. This large, fast paced team, is composed of many small agile teams working together dynamic environment with a common mission to develop and deploy leading-edge missile defense technologies.
The WorkThe C2BMC-Regional Application (RA) Agile Release Train (ART) is seeking a software engineer that will thrive in a fast paced team environment in the design, development, and testing of the C2BMC applications. Common responsibilities of a software engineer on the RA ART team include:
• Design and develop new Java applications; Maintain existing Java applications
• Optimize existing legacy real-time Java applications
• Support software testing and resolution of issues from multiple baselines
• Works from system specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications
• Assist with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs
• Interface with other system support groups
• Generate software design artifacts and support design and code reviews
Basic Qualifications• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in software / computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6+ years of professional experience.
• Must currently hold an ACTIVE DoD Final Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this position.
• Demonstrated experience software development of Java-based applications in a UNIX/Linux platform environment.
• Demonstrated experience developing software in a structured, process-based integrated team environment.
• Demonstrated experience utilizing configuration management tools in the development of software (e.g. Git/Gitlab/etc.).
• Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as System requirements, Use Cases, and SysML diagrams.
• The successful candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills, have the ability to work independently, and be able to work in a highly dynamic environment.
• Candidate will need to be able to work with multiple disciplinary teams including Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, Deployment and Warfighter Support to help ensure mission success.
• Security+ or equivalent certification may be required within 60 days of starting for some roles.

• Missile Defense Domain experience

• Optimizing Java applications for run-time performance.
• Development of complex mathematical algorithms from design documents.

• Resolving cyber/security issues identified by Fortify/SonarQube/etc.
• Maven or Gradle.
• Automated unit testing frameworks.
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $120600.00 - $224000.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
