Position OverviewAs a Software Engineer at NOX METALS, you will be a core member of the founding team working hands-on, side-by-side with factory operations. Your focus will be building and iterating quickly-developing software solutions that have a direct impact on the efficiency and performance of our factory floor. This is a unique opportunity to help define the technical foundation of a modern, industrial business in its earliest days.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate closely with factory operators and leadership to deliver impactful software in real time
- Rapidly design, build, test, and deploy software and automation tools for the factory floor (inventory, workflows, data capture, machine interfaces, etc.)
- Gather feedback from users directly and iterate quickly to solve real operational challenges
- Lead by example with a hands-on, in-person engineering mindset-this is not a remote or purely office-based role
- Help set and maintain high standards for code quality, reliability, and documentation
Requirements- Entrepreneurial spirit; excited to take ownership and be part of a founding team
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages and software development best practices
- Strong ability to work and adapt in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
- Willingness to work in-person, on-site, embedded with factory staff in Detroit
- Comfortable working on the factory floor, engaging directly with production operations
- Strong communication skills and team mindset
