Job DescriptionYou will be the Software Engineer, Modeling and Sim Developer for the LM Aero Simulation and System Lab (SSL) Team which is responsible for developing and supporting advanced simulation and test software for cutting-edge aircraft programs.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Software Engineer, Modeling and Sim Developer you will be responsible for delivering high-quality simulation software that enables experimental, developmental and production aircraft testing.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop, and integrate software models for airframe, aircraft systems, and avionics.
- Write clean, maintainable code in C++, Java, or other high-order languages.
- Create and maintain documentation, test plans, and debugging procedures.
- Collaborate with test engineers to validate models against experimental data.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of simulation tools and processes.

Basic Qualifications• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Software, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Proficient with software development in high order languages (like C++ or Java).
• Experience with the Configuration Management and tools associated with large scale software projects
• Knowledge of aircraft flight controls and automatic flight controls.
Desired skills• Masters of Science in Electrical, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Familiar with modeling and/or simulation
• Knowledge of development of real time software execution
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office

Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $76,500 - $134,895. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
