Software Engineer to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:- Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
- Review and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
- Utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
- Provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
- Provide Help Desk Support; ticket handling/resolution, utilizing JIRA.
Minimum/Basic Qualifications:- 20 years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- 4 years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Experience scripting with Java using Linux
- Strong background with Docker using Maven
- Proficiency with Git/Gitlab; knowledge and experience with CI/CD and GitOps Principles
- Experience with Helm, Kubectl, and Kubernetes
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Flux and Kustomize
- Experience with kafka, kyverno and/or minio
- Willingness to learn integration and perform upgrade support of open-source software deployments
- Willingness to learn and do updates for current Golang software
Clearance Requirements: - Must be a US Citizen
- Must have a current active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
Physical Requirements: - The candidate must be able to move, carry and deliver workstations from inside the office to customer's desk. The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
The projected compensation range for this position is $141,500.00-$236,000.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
