  • Deployed automated interview and decision workflows to production in partnership with underwriters and data science
  • Stood up event-streaming (SSE) and third-party data pipelines feeding real time underwriting decisions across services
  • Integrated an agentic development workflow into our Software Development Lifecycle

Your role

  • Collaborate closely with team members to design, build, test, and ship features across the stack - from Python (FastAPI) backend services to a React + TypeScript frontend
  • Model complex domain logic - rule graphs, execution state, and lifecycle workflows - as clean, deterministic, well-tested code
  • Design and maintain PostgreSQL-backed, multi-tenant data models, including schema migrations and tenant isolation
  • Integrate security throughout the engineering lifecycle - authentication/authorization (OAuth2/OIDC), RBAC, and CI/CD
  • Work with existing engineering, data science, and underwriting groups at Munich Re to develop and apply software development best practices

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Intermediate knowledge of principles of software development
  • Familiarity with Python and web frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or similar)
  • Familiarity with TypeScript/JavaScript and a modern React framework (React or Next.js)
  • Knowledge of relational databases (RDBMS), ideally PostgreSQL, and data modeling
  • Version control with Git and the ability to submit well-structured Pull Requests
  • Strong written technical communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Linux and familiarity with cloud computing

Nice-to-have skills include:

  • Infrastructure: containerization, orchestration, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code
  • Backend depth: SQL ORMs, authentication & authorization, multi-tenant systems
  • Async programming, event streaming (SSE/websockets), and observability tooling
  • Interest in domain modeling, rules engines, workflow/DAG execution, or compilers/interpreters

We are pleased to offer our employees great benefits and resources to support their mental, physical and financial wellbeing. These include:

  • An engaging and collaborative environment that promotes continuous learning and development
