Position Overview
Seeking Software Engineers for the Ground-Based Radar (GBR) Maintenance and Sustainment Services (GMASS) contract. GMASS supports the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of five Upgraded Early Warning Radars (UEWR), and one Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS). The ground-based radars are critical to US and Allied strategic missile warning, missile defense, and space domain awareness missions. This position is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for code development and code deployment for the software version releases which modifies the software baseline of the BMEWS/PAVE PAWS ground-based radar sensors
- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software
- Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting
- Ability to support system integration, test, development, and execution of various types of complex systems
- Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
- Participate in troubleshooting systems to resolve complex issues, interact, and coordinate with engineers responsible for sustaining operational and test systems
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience
Clearance: Secret
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with C++/C, Java, Python and FORTRAN
- Experience with real-time embedded software for ground-based Radar
- Experience in Agile development methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience sustaining Ground-Based Radar systems (GBRs), or other Strategic Warning and Surveillance radar systems such as UEWR or PAVE PAWS
- Knowledge of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) mission and associated enterprise
- Experience leading agile software development teams
- Experience as a Scrum Master and Product Owner
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Position is normally Mon - Fri: may require on-call, evening, and weekend support during system anomalies or mission requirements.
- Ability to work at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods.
