C.H. Robinson is seeking a Software Engineer III to join our Navisphere Carrier team, where you'll play a key role in building and enhancing modern, responsive, and highly scalable solutions that power one of the world's leading supply chain platforms. In this role, you'll contribute to critical experiences that enable carriers to efficiently search for, book, and manage loads while helping shape the technology and engineering practices that support our continued growth. You'll work across the Navisphere Carrier platform, developing and supporting functionality throughout the carrier journey, from load search and booking through post-booking load management. You'll also help create intuitive, high-quality front-end experiences that make it easier for carriers to interact with the platform.
Beyond delivering software, this role is expected to be an active contributor to our engineering culture and continuous improvement efforts. You'll help evolve engineering processes, promote scalable and maintainable development practices, collaborate across teams, and contribute to an environment focused on technical excellence, innovation, and delivering meaningful value to our carriers. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop software and design solutions independently to satisfy customer requirements that considers performance and availability
- Partner with engineering product managers and principal software engineers to translate requirements into detailed designs
- Design and deliver modern, responsive, and intuitive front-end user experiences.
- Increase code quality through code reviews and writing unit, integration and acceptance tests
- Optimize, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance and maintainability while ensuring maximum efficiency, effectiveness, and return on investment
- Develop solutions with an emphasis on scalability, reliability, maintainability, performance, and user experience.
- Tune performance and resolve availability issues of product or service and its dependencies in production
- Develop and maintain thorough technical documentation for features
- Write code using secure programming patterns and by finding, fixing, and enhancing security in existing applications
- Estimate software development effort including identifying dependent teams and developing code to satisfy complex requirements
- Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies
- Mentor and coach other software engineers by participating in design and code reviews and share best practices; proactively seek mentorship from others
Required Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience developing and implementing commercial software
- 5+years' experience in modern web UI/front-end development, with hands-on expertise building responsive, scalable, and user-focused applications using React.
- 5+ years of experience creating applications and features in an object-oriented environment (ex. C#, .NET,)
- Experience with database objects in relational databases (ex. MS SQL, Oracle) or non-relational databases (ex. MongoDB, Elastic, Cosmos
- Experience with HTTP and REST architecture
- Experience with unit, integration, and acceptance testing
- Experience with version control systems (ex. GIT, GitHub, TFS, etc.)
- Experience with CI/CD continuous integration / continuous deployment practices
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IS, MIS, or other technology degree or minimum 4 years of equivalent work experience and high school diploma/GED
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience in system integration projects or global projects
- Experience with transportation, logistics, or business systems
- Proven track record delivering software in an agile environment
- Experience building cloud native applications and services (ex. Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experience with data streaming and messaging architecture and frameworks (ex. Kafka, RabbitMQ, ESB)
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Possess solid communication skills and strong customer focus
- A learning and growth mindset that is open to giving and receiving feedback

Compensation Range$119,800.00 - $202,300.00
