You will contribute to delivering operational excellence and transformative innovation for Guidewire's Product Development & Operations (PDO) organization. Our priorities include accelerating AI, cloud, and data platform adoption, and ensuring our solutions deliver measurable value and efficiency for customers.
Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities- Develop and maintain features for Guidewire's application platform, primarily focusing on backend services.
- Apply agentic coding tools as Guidewire uses them to dramatically accelerate development.
- Write clean, well-tested code with attention to quality and security.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient platform operations.
- Participate in code reviews and learn from team best practices.

Required Qualifications- 1-2 years of experience in backend software engineering, with experience building web services or applications.
- Experience with coding agents and automation tools.
- Familiarity with one of Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, with willingness to learn other languages.
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases (vector DBs), AI agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- Good collaboration and communication skills.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn Kubernetes and infrastructure as code.
- Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your role as well as use data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $109,000 - $186,000. Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan. In addition, some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, company and employee performance.
