This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, coding solutions, unit testing, and ensuring the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces. Job expectations include an awareness of development and testing practices in the industry.

Profile Position Summary

The Equities Cash Technology (ECT) team support the Electronic Trading and High Touch business in the Global Markets. The team provides innovative solutions for low touch trading, which includes FIX connectivity, low latency client, market connectivity, order management, post trade reporting, smart order routing, algorithmic trading and internal crossing. The team is global with a strong presence in every region (AMRS, EMEA and APAC). The role requires a strategic mindset, an ability to understand technology development, transformation and change management at scale, a strong customer service mindset in support of our growing equities trading franchise and an ability to leverage data to manage transparently, identify risks and drive consistent delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
  • Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements
  • Performs Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) activities
  • Contributes to story refinement and definition of requirements
  • Participates in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle
  • Contributes to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause
  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
  • Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals.

Required Qualifications
• In depth understanding of core Java API's (collections, concurrency, nio etc) - Must have extensive understanding and proven industrial experience with multithreaded systems, working knowledge of the Java garbage collector, familiar with low latency IO
• AI First approach
• Enthusiastic, passionate engineer able to work closely with project teams in a multi-faceted role
• Automation first mindset across the software development lifecycle, particularly around shift-left testing
• Practical experience within an Electronic Trading environment in an investment bank or similar
• Development practices - Use test driven development and be familiar with UML and OO design. Should have experience with Eclipse/IntelliJ, Jenkins, Git, TeamCity, Gradle and continuous build servers.
• Knowledge of FIX (heart-beating, login, sequence numbers, message types etc)
• In-depth experience of sockets and understanding of network connectivity
• Demonstrable experience of front office system design and architecture
• Team Player - Must be able to work with and help more junior members as well as take technical direction from the team lead.
• Experience with Order Management systems, including analytics
• Knowledge in architecting applications for Cloud and/or Containerized Environments
• Practical, hands-on experience with Agile and test-driven development
• Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns.

Pay range

$88,800.00 - $144,800.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
