Software Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will be involved in the design, development, and testing of software solutions that enhance our aerospace products and services. You will work with the team that brings the electronics hardware up and provides the low-level embedded software to the application team in products such as guidance and navigation, satellite payload processing and mission computers. Software Center of Excellence Organization.You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our
Moca, Puerto Rico location. External hires will work the first 90 days onsite before transitioning to a hybrid schedule - 3 days in the office, 2 days offsite.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Design, development, and testing of software solutions that enhance our aerospace products and services, ensuring alignment with project requirements and timeline.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software specifications and enhance system performance.
- Responsible for executing project subtasks in order to meet customer specifications.
- Conducts technical interchange of task level information (system requirements, specifications.) with team members and internal customers.
- Contribute with software documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and project reports.
- Ability to code in multiple languages (with object-oriented languages like e.g. C++)
- Travel, up to 10%, may be expected.
ResponsibilitiesY
OU MUST HAVE: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- 2+ years of embedded software development experience (full life cycle) •
- Ability to read, write and speak English
WE VALUE: - Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science-focused line of study
- Experience with Embedded RTOS, such as VxWorks®, Linux, Integrity®, Deos™
- Experience with computer architecture, networking and computer communications (e.g. A429, I2C, SPI, UART)
- Aerospace embedded software development experience •
- Experience with C, C++ and Phyton programming languages. Assembly language experience.
- Software verification and validation
- Awareness about DO-178 B/C
- Understanding various software development lifecycles
- Knowledge of JIRA, Bitbucket, DOORS, and Microsoft Visual Studio
- Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
- Diverse and global teaming and collaboration
- Good communicator with a wide degree of creativity and latitude. Excellent written skills
- Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events
- Analytical skills & software development skills
