As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:
- Analyzing, designing, and implementing systems software that brings new functionality and increased accuracy, reliability and performance to our mapping system
- Evolving complex algorithms to best respond to unpredictable traffic patterns on the global Internet
- Improving the scalability, robustness, and ease of use of our software systems for testing, deployment, monitoring and maintenance
- Becoming a subject matter expert for our systems, explaining and improving our software, and assisting with troubleshooting
- Measuring, assessing, and tuning the effects of our global control systems
Do what you loveTo be successful in this role you will:
- Have 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent experience
- Demonstrate solid experience working in C/C++ or another object-oriented language
- Have experience developing, analyzing or improving algorithms.
- Be comfortable solving complex technical problems collaboratively
- Be curious, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies.
- Be familiar with the Linux operating system and scripting languages (e.g. Python, shell, perl)
CompensationAkamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $95,000 - $171,000/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
