Software Engineer Fairfax, VA, US Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Top Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Local The proposed salary range for this position is $79,400 - $162,700 The Opportunity As a Software Engineer, you will be part of an Agile development team where you will support the design, development, modification, and evaluation of signals intelligence, radar, and communications prototype development systems, related software systems, and development environments for our Navy customer. You will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience with a variety of software tools and processes around containerized applications development and deployment, troubleshoot dataflow between embedded systems and containerized applications, and work directly with RF equipment in the Fairfax lab. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Software Engineer to join our growing development team. This role will work with a few programming languages (Java, C/C++, Python), designing and deploying modular applications, employing front-end and back-end technologies, and leveraging DevSecOps tooling to deliver seamless secure solutions. Responsibilities 37Duties will include all aspects of software engineering, including: requirements analysis and specification software design, implementation and integration, testing, maintenance and installation.37 37Produce quality, sustainable, and efficient code using best practices and modern software methodologies. 37 37Collaborate with cross-functional teams, the Customer and their representatives to take requirements and translate them into end-to-end solutions. 37 37Collaborate with DevSecOps team in implementing CI/CD processes to facilitate efficient and effective development cycles37 37Collaborate with external teams to integrate our software products onto different environments37 37Own the software baseline from development to deployment and integration onto multiple development and test environments37 37Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for speed and scalability across distributed environments 37 37Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc) 37 Required Experience Qualifications: 37Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field37 373-5 years of hands-on software development experience37 37Strong proficiency in programming language Java37 37Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and system scalability37 37Familiar with container automation and orchestration tooling employment (Kubernetes, Podman/Docker) 37 37Proficiency in front-end and back-end technologies (React, Node.js, Django) and frameworks as required by the role 37 37Knowledge of Agile software development best practices 37 37Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and within agile team constructs to lead developers in fast paced, collaborative environments 37 37Strong documentation skills following templated formats for both informal and formal documents (Confluence, Word, Power Point, Excel) 37 37Proficiency in debugging issues and providing solutions in both high level and detailed format 37 Preferred Experience Desired: 373-5 years in developing software to enable digital signal processing systems, using cloud native platforms, and edge computing environments with a focus on security37 37Experience in programming language (C++/C or Python)37 37RF and DSP experience37 37Proficiency utilizing Linux based system (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, VxWorks)37 37Proficiency in networking and data distribution protocols as well as frameworks and monitoring tools (Vita49.2, TCP, UDP, Sockets, ActiveMQ, Data Distribution Service (DDS), Wireshark) 37 37There is a Top Secret clearance requirement to begin employment.
