Description

As a Software Engineer at Verily, you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing products that are focused on the promise of precision health. Verily's core strategy to advance precision health is by closing the gap between research and care. The Verily Me team is building exciting technology for our Patients/Participants that drive engagement and unlock user value. We are a team of full-stack and backend developers building an amazing platform that delivers personalized, data driven experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the development team to design, develop, and deliver new software features across the Verily tech stack.
  • Come up with ideas to technical design problems, compare options, and propose solutions.
  • Develop using industry-standard tools including GitHub, Google Cloud, Go, Docker, and Terraform to name a few.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in software development.
  • 3 years experience as a software developer in an industry setting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
  • Expertise in building software and systems on any of: GCP, AWS or Azure (GCP preferred).
  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, Go, Python, or JavaScript.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with Go, Java, Python, and/or SQL.
  • Proficiency in Apache Beam and its associated technologies for data ingestion and processing.
  • Solid understanding of ETL principles and best practices.
  • Experience with designing and implementing scalable data processing pipelines with Bioquery or other analytics-oriented databases.
  • Education or exposure to healthcare or life sciences, with emphasis on HL7 FHIR.

Compensation Information

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $112,000 - $126,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
