Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Software Engineers for a contract opportunity in Huntsville, AL.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

  • US Security Clearance - Secret

Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
  • 6+ years of experience in embedded real-time software development
  • 6+ years of experience developing software in C/C++

Prior Experience working on safety critical or human rated software
  • Demonstrated ability to produce comprehensive software development documentation across the full lifecycle for mission-critical and human-rated systems.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 90% - Contribute to a software development team responsible for requirements analysis, design, implementation, unit testing, and integration of embedded real-time control system and/or application software. Help develop software documentation, support internal and customer reviews of software work products, and assist with preparation for program milestone reviews.
  • 10% - Support software process improvement by analyzing software metrics, identifying process gaps, developing and evaluating improvement options, refining metric definitions and collection methods, and assessing industry tools and other resources to advance the growth and maturity of the software organization.
  • Travel up to 10% may be required to support test activities


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Real-time Operating System Experience (NI Linux, Integrity, Redhat Linux, QNX)
  • Communications Protocols (1553, TCP/IP, RS-422, SPI)
  • Unified Modeling Language (UML) with design tools (Enterprise Architect / Rhapsody / Cameo)
  • Hardware and Software integration

Working knowledge of laboratory test equipment (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies)
  • Familiarity with software development Integrated Development Environments (IDE) and lifecycle management tools
  • Understanding of Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 and greater software processes


REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or other related degree, and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience; or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience; or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
