Position Overview

As a Software Engineer Associate within PNC's Business Intelligence Enablement organization, you can be based in Strongsville, OH or Pittsburgh, PA.

PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position.

Job Description

The Software Engineer Associate supports the organization's reporting, analytics, and business intelligence capabilities by partnering with stakeholders to develop and enhance Business Intelligence solutions using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Insight Rocket.

This role serves as a key resource for the Business Intelligence user community, providing guidance, troubleshooting support, training, and enablement while helping maintain Business Intelligence governance standards and best practices.

The Software Engineer Associate will also contribute to platform adoption, product planning, and AI-driven support initiatives, leveraging data, user feedback, and emerging technologies to continuously improve reporting services, user experience, and data-driven decision making across the organization.

Core Responsibilities
  • Assist business partners in the design, development, and enhancement of business intelligence solutions using Power BI, Tableau, and Insight Rocket to support reporting and analytics needs.
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of Business Intelligence governance standards, procedures, and documentation, helping ensure compliance with enterprise policies and best practices.
  • Serve as a resource for the business intelligence community by responding to user inquiries, troubleshooting tool-related issues, and communicating upcoming platform enhancements and activities through the Business Intelligence Center of Enablement (BICoE) mailbox.
  • Facilitate, on a rotating basis, the Business Intelligence Center of Enablement (BICoE) bi-weekly helpdesk and knowledge-sharing sessions, providing guidance on Business Intelligence tools, reporting techniques, and analytics best practices.
  • Administer and enhance the team's AI-powered support agents, leveraging automation to improve tracking, categorization, and resolution of user questions received through email and collaboration channels.
  • Assist with Business Intelligence product management and planning activities, including collecting and analyzing usage metrics, adoption trends, and customer feedback to support platform strategy and roadmap decisions.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence platform administrators, developers, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving reporting capabilities, user experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging analytics, reporting, and AI technologies and contribute recommendations for improving Business Intelligence services and user enablement.

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, or similar analytics tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Interest in data-driven decision making, Business Intelligence governance, reporting technologies, and applied AI solutions.
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including an understanding of how to write queries, retrieve data, and support reporting and analytics needs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills, with the ability to effectively support and engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience facilitating training sessions, knowledge-sharing forums, workshops, or virtual meetings for large audiences using platforms such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to translate information for different types of audiences
  • Experience using the Microsoft 365 suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and MSTeams) to support collaboration, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot Studio, conversational AI, AI agents, or other automation technologies is preferred.
  • Understanding of AI agent concepts, workflows, and support use cases, including how AI can be leveraged to improve service delivery and user enablement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $63,750.00 - $106,250.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education.
