Our Team

The Netflix Audience Activation team is committed to providing a relevant and engaging advertising experience that prioritizes member privacy. Our team is responsible for the intake and processing of advertiser engagement signals in a privacy safe way.

The Role

As a Software Engineer on the Audience Activation team, you will be instrumental in designing and developing Netflix Conversion APIs and Audience Onboarding systems. These systems are essential for powering critical Audience Onboarding & Activation, Measurement, Optimization, Retargeting and Reporting capabilities. Your responsibilities will include building high-volume, low-latency services capable of ingesting consented user engagement events from Advertiser properties in near-real-time. This ingestion will support various methods, including server-to-server streaming, pixel requests, and batch uploads. You will join a skilled team of professionals dedicated to ads technology and user privacy, collaborating within a culture that strongly promotes continuous learning, diversity, and creativity.

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Technical Leadership:Proven track record of solving highly complex, ambiguous, business critical technical problems which require significant cross-organization collaboration.

  • Conversion API and Event Processing: Demonstrated experience in building server-to-server, batch and pixel Conversion APIs. This includes processing conversion events from diverse sources to create high-fidelity, identity and attribution-enriched, and deduplicated "gold" data sets for consumption by downstream services.

  • Unlocking Conversion Value: Expertise in leveraging conversion events to enable valuable derivative services, such as retargeting and outcome-based optimization.

  • Audience Onboarding & Activation: Experience designing and building scalable batch and streaming advertiser custom audience data onboarding and activation systems for online advertising platforms.  

  • Streaming Architectures: Practical experience with streaming event architectures and related technologies (e.g., Kafka, Flink).

  • Ad Tech and Privacy Knowledge: Strong understanding of the ad technology and advertising landscape, including programmatic advertising and current digital marketing trends. Familiarity with global ads regulations, as well as privacy, consent, and legal compliance.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse, cross-functional teams.

  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Nice to haves:
  • Familiarity with clean rooms and industry-leading privacy-enhancing technology for multi-party data sharing.

  • Experience working in the CTV space and knowledge of its unique constraints.

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $499,000.00 - $900,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location.
