Description:Columbia Technology Partners is seeking an experienced
Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems in support of mission and business objectives.
In this role, you will design, build, and integrate software solutions across a range of environments, including data-intensive applications, real-time systems, and large-scale data platforms. You'll work independently or as part of a team to analyze requirements, develop new capabilities, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high-quality software delivery.
This position also involves contributing to system design, evaluating trade-offs, and recommending improvements to development processes and technologies. Ideal candidates will have experience with modern front-end frameworks such as
Angular and RxJS, along with familiarity in
Spring Boot-based back-end development environments.
Key Responsibilities: - Analyze user requirements and translate them into software design and performance specifications
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions
- Debug and resolve software defects and performance issues
- Modify and enhance existing software to add new features or improve functionality
- Integrate software into new or existing systems and environments
- Develop algorithms and data processing solutions to meet system requirements
- Design and implement database queries and interfaces
- Write, review, and maintain technical documentation
- Contribute to system design, including hardware/software tradeoffs and reuse of existing components
- Support testing activities and validate software performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful solution delivery
- Recommend improvements to development processes, tools, and technologies
- Provide technical leadership as needed based on project scope
Qualifications: - 12+ years of experience as a Software Engineer supporting programs of similar scope and complexity
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 4 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree
- Experience developing and maintaining complex software systems
- Experience analyzing requirements and implementing software solutions
- Experience debugging, testing, and maintaining codebases
- Experience working within structured software development methodologies
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Angular and RxJS for front-end development
- Familiarity with the Spring Boot framework
- Experience with a subset of the following technologies:
- Java, Spring (MVC, Data, Security)
- Kafka, JMS
- Oracle, Elasticsearch
- Docker, Kubernetes (K8s)
- Maven, Gradle
- GitLab, CI/CD pipelines
