Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Platform / DevOps Engineer to design, implement, automate, and support mission-critical cloud infrastructure and platform services that power modern banking solutions. This role is responsible for building secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), while driving automation, operational excellence, and platform modernization initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Kubernetes, CI/CD automation, cloud operations, observability, and security best practices. They will collaborate closely with engineering, product, architecture, and customer-facing teams to support strategic initiatives, client onboarding programs, platform migrations, and continuous service improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure & Automation
  • Develop, implement, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform to support mission-critical banking platforms across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Build and maintain reusable infrastructure modules, standards, and deployment frameworks that enable secure, scalable, and repeatable cloud deployments.
  • Drive automation initiatives using Python and other scripting languages to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance system reliability.
Platform Engineering & Kubernetes
  • Manage, optimize, and support large-scale Kubernetes environments across production and non-production platforms.
  • Design and implement solutions that improve platform availability, scalability, resiliency, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Support cluster lifecycle management activities including upgrades, migrations, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and modernization programs.
CI/CD & Software Delivery
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
  • Automate build, test, deployment, and operational workflows to enable rapid and reliable software delivery.
  • Improve deployment processes through pipeline optimization, environment automation, and release engineering best practices.
Client Onboarding & Migration Programs
  • Support complex customer onboarding, platform conversion, and migration initiatives across multiple cloud and deployment environments.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful implementation, migration, validation, and operational readiness activities.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application integration challenges affecting customer environments.
Security, Networking & Governance
  • Design, implement, and validate security, networking, and operational guardrails that strengthen platform resilience and maintain regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Partner with architecture and security teams to improve cloud security posture, identity management, network segmentation, secrets management, and infrastructure governance.
  • Ensure cloud solutions adhere to organizational security, audit, and compliance standards.
Monitoring, Observability & Reliability
  • Design and implement enterprise monitoring, dashboarding, logging, alerting, and tracing solutions.
  • Build operational dashboards and service-level observability frameworks using tools such as Datadog, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar platforms.
  • Drive proactive monitoring initiatives to improve platform reliability, customer experience, and incident response effectiveness.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring operational issues.
Operational Support & Platform Enhancements
  • Provide advanced operational support for customer environments including troubleshooting, incident resolution, infrastructure enhancements, and feature enablement.
  • Lead efforts to improve system reliability, operational maturity, automation coverage, and platform supportability.
  • Participate in production support activities and critical incident response when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, Python, GitLab CI/CD Pipelines, Kubernetes, and AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience managing cloud-native infrastructure and distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of networking, DNS, load balancing, TLS/SSL, firewalls, and cloud security principles.
  • Experience with Linux systems administration and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure automation, configuration management, and deployment strategies.
  • Experience supporting production environments and mission-critical applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud Solution Architect certifications, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, or CKS).
  • Experience with service mesh technologies, container security, and platform engineering practices.
  • Experience implementing observability solutions using Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting financial services, banking, fintech, or highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud architecture, disaster recovery planning, and platform modernization initiatives.
