Key job responsibilities
- Own software features end-to-end, from requirements clarification through design, implementation, deployment, and operation
- Write clear, well-structured design documents and participate actively in design reviews, both as author and reviewer
- Deliver high-quality production code that meets team standards, requires minimal re-review, and is built to be maintainable
- Partner with PMT, Science, and business stakeholders to clarify ambiguous requirements and translate business goals into technical scope
- Identify and mitigate immediate risks in your work; proactively raise concerns about cross-team dependencies, edge cases, and operational gaps
- Contribute to team operational excellence: integration tests on every change, monitoring and alerting for the systems you own, runbooks for the on-call rotation, and Sev-2 reduction
- Participate in the on-call rotation for services your team owns, including weekend and after-hours response when required
- Mentor SDE-I engineers and new hires; provide constructive code review feedback that develops your peers
- Continuously simplify code and resolve component-level architectural deficiencies as you encounter them
- Stay current with the team's tech stack and contribute to technology decisions within your scope

The XCM Brand Marketing Tech organization owns systems, data, and product infrastructure that power how Amazon shows up for Customers. We are a global cross-functional team of product, engineering, and science leaders building core capabilities across both upper funnel (e.g. awareness, reach) and mid/lower funnel (e.g. consideration, conversion) marketing domains. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
