This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will work with various subsystem stakeholders to produce and manage the software architecture for the Blue Transporter spacecraft within the Lunar Permanence business unit. You and your teammates will be tasked with ensuring mission success of the lunar vehicles' safety-critical, performant flight software. You will proactively engage with the leads and engineers of different subsystems, including both software and hardware. You will guide the software team's technical decisions using the input of a set of stakeholders and provide the rationale behind these decisions. You will draft, review, revise, and publish documents that outline these decisions and provide a credible plan for implementing flight software that completes the Lunar Permanence mission objectives. You will report to the Flight Software Integrated Product Lead. A strong applicant will demonstrate an ability to understand the needs of our stakeholders and simultaneously represent the capabilities of our Flight Software team well. This attribute is particularly important to ensure that our team avoids over-promising and under-delivering.

You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
