AWS Networking Data Management and Research team owns a data bus, which performs ingestion, enrichment and transformation of raw networking data. Our mission is to distribute the data to our customers and build systems that enables customers and scientists to run experiments on top of it. We are looking for an exceptional Software Development Engineer (SDE) to build the software and leverage big data solutions for devising the next generation of network monitoring systems.

The ideal candidate will share our excitement about cloud computing and will be passionate about delivering high quality services. You will have good knowledge of distributed systems with design and implementation experience, as well as the ability to lead and mentor other engineers. About the team

The Network Availability Engineering team is responsible for the monitoring and tooling that helps ensure the (arguably) largest physical network on the planet is also the most highly available and performant for customers ranging from Video streamers like Netflix, gaming companies like EASports to financial institutions including the NASDAQ.

This team of engineers and scientists build and operate the systems that monitor and analyze billions of data points per day from our telemetry systems across millions of devices, and using those insights to drive automated recovery in near-real-time through other systems we build. Their systems are also used to get insight into the most performant parts of their own networks as well as the internet so that other systems can ensure customers have industry leading performance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent

- Experience with data streaming, online analytical processing architectures and exposure to technologies like Kafka, Spark, EMR etc.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
