As a software sustainment engineer, you play a pivotal role in an application's functional life. From troubleshooting to fixing bugs, you use your operations and maintenance skills to ensure that things run smoothly. We're looking for an experienced software sustainment engineer like you to apply your knowledge to our clients' challenges and their legacy enterprise systems.

As a software sustainment engineer at Booz Allen, you'll have an operational impact from day one. With a team of professionals, you'll maintain applications and keep systems working. You and your team will use programming and scripting languages as you continuously enhance and maintain applications, troubleshoot any issues that arise operationally, and upgrade systems to meet security requirements.

You Have:

• 5+ years of experience developing and sustaining Python applications, including concurrent or multi-process systems, in an Agile environment
• 3+ years of experience working with real-time or event-driven architectures such as queues, and producer or consumer pipelines, or distributed or microservices systems
• Experience with AWS cloud services, including S3, Batch, Lambda, or Step Functions
• Experience with containerization such as Docker, and Infrastructure-as-Code such as CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation
• Experience with scientific or geospatial Python libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, pandas, and pyproj, for processing scientific data
• Experience designing, debugging, and testing software components against design specifications, including unit or integration testing
• Knowledge of source control such as Git, and CI/CD pipelines in a DevSecOps environment
• Ability to lead design and code reviews, and collaborate cross-functionally
• TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with AWS Batch, ECR, Step Functions, OpenSearch, SQS/SNS, or Kinesis
• Experience applying statistical or optimization methods in code such as similarity or distance scoring, probabilistic matching, or optimal assignment or matching algorithms
• Experience with Flask or another lightweight Python web framework
• Experience with JavaScript for web-based visualization or front-end development
• Knowledge of shell scripting and build or deployment automation
• Ability to comprehend scientific algorithms and the theories backing them

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
