Job Ad - Plan Support Administrator

Job Summary:

The Software Developer is responsible for designing pension plan software solutions to support the administration of governmental pension plans by gathering requirements, designing solutions, coding, testing, and deploying applications. This individual also documents software processes, assists in maintaining and troubleshooting various software applications, and aids in making proactive improvements to them.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Software Design and Development (80%)
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for various software applications and systems;
  • Perform thorough testing to identify and resolve bugs and ensure the functionality of software applications;
  • Work closely with other teams and developers to deliver high-quality software solutions;
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards;
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve processes and enhance the software development lifecycle; and
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for software design, functionality, and user manuals.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance (20%)
  • Provide support for ongoing maintenance of existing software applications, handing bug fixes, system updates, and performance improvements; and
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies, programming languages, and industry standards to continuously improve software solutions.
