OverviewThe Software Developer supports the United States (U.S.) Army C5ISR Center to develop advances within cyber defense research; advanced detection methods; sensor structure, data optimization, and sensor architectures; intrusion detection innovations, evaluation methods, attack behaviors, insider threat and adversarial threat predictions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, support, and update the CSSP’s custom software primarily deployed in a RHEL infrastructure. The portfolio of products includes, but is not limited to, Interrogator, CSSP Subscriber Manager (CSM), RMF Writer, and other tools and applications.
- Develop new applications or tools using core programming languages (Python, PHP, JavaScript, C/C++, Java) as requested, leveraging existing frameworks and technology as much as reasonably possible.
- Troubleshoot application issues as needed. Resolution and timeframe for instituting fixes shall factor in the importance of the system based upon criticality of the system to operational requirements.
- Advance the state of the art in tools, techniques, and approaches used through research, Development, and natural system life-cycle processes to the following (but not limited to):
- Applying ML and other advanced techniques to the data being collected and processed.
- Applying cloud-based and/or virtualization technologies and capabilities to system architectures.
- Applying modern display and user interface techniques and approaches to user interfaces.
- Adapting existing systems and architectures to new environments, which may require unique approaches (such as cross-domain solutions).
- Improvements and refinements reducing computational and storage requirements.
