Full Job Description
Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Full-Stack Software Developer with strong JavaScript/Node.js backend experience and solid front-end skills to design and deliver end-to-end web features and services. This role is for an engineer with roughly 3-5 years of professional experience who can own features or small projects, write production-quality code across the stack, and contribute to improving how we handle data and reporting. Python is a plus, but the primary emphasis is TypeScript/JavaScript for both server and client work. This hybrid role is based out of Wilmington, NC, and requires regular onsite collaboration.

An ideal applicant will be highly skilled, consistently punctual, and enjoy working with a variety of skilled individuals who share similar values and goals.
General Duties/Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, test, and deliver full-stack web features and backend services using JavaScript/Node.js.
  • Own the full lifecycle of features or small projects - from requirements and design through implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Build responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or similar).
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and services that integrate with frontends and internal systems.
  • Write and optimize SQL for application and reporting needs; create scripts and small tools to help with reconciliation and routine reporting.
  • Support and help improve data-related processes through lightweight transforms, scripts, and collaboration on larger initiatives.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions and, when needed, into NetSuite/SuiteScript-friendly JavaScript integrations.
  • Apply automated testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end), participate in CI/CD processes, and use containerized development/deployments (Docker).
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement durable fixes.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and runbooks; share knowledge across stakeholders.
  • Follow security and privacy best practices for applications and data handling.
Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities
  • Follow GMP policy when in the production facility and encourage your team to do the same.
  • Understand our SQF policies relating to pest control, visitors, allergen management, and cleaning and sanitation.
  • Demonstrate awareness of Management's Commitment to SQF and work towards Food Safety and Quality and help the company meet this commitment.
  • If there is a problem that involves food quality and safety, report to the Quality Assurance Manager so that the CAPA (corrective action, preventative action) log may be filled out, the situation be investigated, and resolved with the goal of continuous improvement of food quality and safety.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Strong JavaScript experience with backend frameworks such as Node.js (Express, Fastify, or similar).
  • Competent front-end skills: HTML5, CSS3 (responsive design), and experience with a modern frontend framework/library (React, Vue, or similar).
  • Solid SQL skills for building and optimizing queries for application and reporting.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with JSON (GraphQL familiarity is a plus).
  • Familiarity with frontend state management, client performance optimization, and basic accessibility practices.
  • Practical experience with version control (Git), automated testing (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, etc.), CI/CD, and containerization.
  • Strong debugging, logging, and monitoring skills.
  • Clear verbal and written communication; able to translate business needs into technical tasks and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to own features or small projects and make pragmatic tradeoffs to deliver value.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to data workflows and reporting improvements.
  • Self-starter with good organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and with collaborators.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Typically 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrable ownership of features, enhancements, or small projects.
  • Prior experience in an enterprise or manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Must be able to pass a background check
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
  • Based onsite in our Wilmington, NC Facility with the option for up to 2 days/week remote after 90 days onsite.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Office area located near or within manufacturing facility; may be occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, manufacturing-related lighting and/or noise due to the surrounding production environment.
