LOCATION: Full-time onsite in Herndon, VA
LEVEL: 3+ years of experience We are looking for a Software Developer who is skilled in developing modern web-service applications using JavaScript-capable technologies, applying security patches and vulnerability assessments, and supporting the application accreditation process to ensure secure, compliant software delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this challenging yet rewarding role, you are an integral part of what brings our Company's mission to life. The following required skills, certifications and demonstrated experience in and/or with:
- Utilizing the SCRUM Agile methodology for all software application development unless otherwise directed by the client
- Considerable knowledge of the life-cycle process for software development, web applications, and implementation
- Considerable knowledge and ability to program proficiently in two or more of the applications or database programming languages relevant to the project.
- Ability to translate user requirements into end-to-end design for applications/databases that may involve multiple interfaces to other applications or supporting database systems.
- Ability to track and resolve programming bugs.
- Ability to explain protocols, technical procedures and processes clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to plan, set goals, and determine strategies for accomplishing results; monitors and evaluates progress towards goals.
- Ability to write clear, concise and effective requirements documents, correspondence, procedures, and reports in accordance with policies.
- Developing software applications as web services that are written in JavaScript capable technology unless otherwise directed. Examples include JavaScript, Java; ASP.NET;
- Scripting languages (Perl, PHP, Ruby on Rails); and Rich UI Plugins (Flex, Silverlight, Google Earth Plugin)
- Applying security patches, performing security scans, and assessing vulnerabilities
- Supporting the application accreditation process.
