Full Job Description
Join Amazon Advertising in Live Events as an AI Engineer and help shape the future of advertising technology across premium live sports and entertainment. You'll design and build intelligent systems that power ad delivery for millions of concurrent viewers across Thursday Night Football, NBA, NASCAR, and dozens of global properties, where every moment matters and reliability is paramount.
Key job responsibilities
Own end-to-end feature delivery across the live events advertising stack, from requirements through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support
Author and drive technical designs for new capabilities, leading design reviews and incorporating feedback from senior engineers and cross-functional partner teams
Build AI-powered automation systems including agentic workflows, prompt-engineered development pipelines, and intelligent operational tooling that reduce manual effort across our event portfolio
Design and implement integrations with partner teams across the advertising ecosystem, including Publisher Ad Server, Prime Video, and ad serving platforms
Lead event readiness and operational excellence by owning on-call responsibilities, building monitoring and alerting systems, authoring runbooks, and driving root cause analysis for production issues
A day in the life
In this role, you'll focus on building AI-powered infrastructure that transforms how we deliver advertising across live events. You might start your day collaborating with partner teams to design a new feature for real-time ad optimization, then spend time architecting an agentic workflow that automates operational tasks across our 200+ annual events. You'll use AI pair-programming tools to accelerate development, participate in design reviews where you'll share technical perspectives with senior engineers, and work through complex problems that span broadcast systems, distributed infrastructure, and intelligent automation. Later, you might lead a root cause analysis on a production issue or mentor a junior engineer through a challenging technical decision. Throughout it all, you're operating at broadcast-grade reliability where milliseconds and uptime directly impact the experience for millions of viewers.
