Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Software (SW) Configuration Analyst 5 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL.

The selected SW Configuration Analyst 5 will join the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapons System (GWS) Configuration Management and Data Management (CM/DM) Team supporting successful and compliant execution of all phases of Configuration & Data Management (CDM) principles (planning, configuration identification, change control, status accounting, verification/audits, and data management).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drives the successful outcome of CM activities across the GMD weapon0system portfolio, encompassing software, integration with subcontractor-produced hardware, and all sites.

  • Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products.

  • Performs configuration management and release engineering to ensure new software product operating parameters are traceable, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable.

  • Communicate issues and risks pertaining to CDM implementation and potential solutions.

  • Manage Change Records End to End 0 create, track, and control modification records, ensuring rigorous management oversight and traceability of multiple baselines.

  • Collaborate with key program stakeholders, to ensure the successful release of software artifacts and the creation of deployment media.

  • Synchronize Engineering Change Data 0 partnering with engineering, quality, operations, and data control groups to implement released changes smoothly across HW and SW product lines.

  • Upholds configuration control and certifies baselines revisions throughout the project lifecycle. Performs configuration status accounting and physical configuration audits. 0

  • Prioritize and manage emergency software releases, supporting the engineering team(s), ensuring timely resolution of operational deficiencies or anomalies that affect customer satisfaction.

  • Completes SW CM and media integrity checks.

  • Partners with software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.

  • Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use. May develop / release program command-media.

  • Supports the harmonization of CDM processes and tools while championing innovative solutions to improve efficiency.

  • Operate and plan in an Agile environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor0s Degree plus 12 years of relevant experience in Configuration Management (CM)/Data Management (DM); or a Master0s Degree plus 10 years of relevant experience; or a PhD. and 8 years of relevant Experience.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and must have the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance to a level of Secret, which is required to start

  • Understanding and demonstrated experience with the implementation of configuration management standards and practices (e.g., ISO, ANSI, CMII) and baseline management

  • Experience with analyzing proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system baseline

  • Experience in reviewing contract documents to determine documentation/product delivery requirements for each phase of project

  • Strong Software Configuration Management background.

  • Experience using configuration and data management tools

  • Experience working configuration management in a highly regulated industry

  • Experience performing and analyzing data integrity scans

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment full-time

  • Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating in Agile development environments; including CI/CD pipeline.

  • Experience using Bitbucket, Confluence, and Jira.

  • Experience with CM and product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.

  • Experience with SW CM branching strategies & tagging, pull requests, merges, and build versioning.

  • Ability to identify the needs to build automation, designing and implementing CI/CD solutions

  • Experience running and analyzing Checksum scans.

  • Demonstrated implementation of configuration status accounting / CM verification.

  • Strong knowledge of how business processes work together to ensure interfaces with other business processes are efficient.

  • Experience managing customer deliverables (CDRLs) and/or supplier deliverables (SDRLs).

  • Experience in developing impact assessments.

  • Experience in developing impact assessments and proposals estimations.

Primary Level Salary Range: $153,600.00 - $230,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate0s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
