Software Certification Engineer (Senior or Lead)
Position Responsibilities:- Lead and manage a team of engineers focused on the design, analysis, and testing of aircraft systems and components, with an unwavering commitment to safety
- Cultivate a safety-first mindset within the engineering unit, ensuring that all engineering practices prioritize the well-being of passengers and crew
- Collaborate closely with the FAA to navigate the complex certification process, ensuring that all aircraft designs comply with stringent regulatory requirements and safety standards
- Develop and implement engineering strategies that emphasize safety and reliability, aligning with Boeing's commitment to delivering the highest quality aircraft
- Serve as the primary liaison for FAA representatives, facilitating transparent communication and collaboration throughout the certification journey
- Oversee the preparation and submission of comprehensive technical documentation required for FAA certification, ensuring that all materials reflect the highest standards of accuracy and thoroughness
- Mentor and develop engineering staff, instilling a deep understanding of safety protocols and certification processes to enhance their professional growth and technical expertise
- Analyze and resolve complex engineering challenges with a focus on safety, leveraging data-driven decision-making and industry best practices
- Monitor project progress and performance, ensuring that engineering solutions are delivered on time and meet all safety and certification milestones
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):- Bachelor's Degree
- To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. a7120.62 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
- 9+ years of experience in software development life cycles, configuration management and best agile software engineering practices
- 9+ years of experience with DO-178C and supplements (DO-331, DO-332) and DO-330
- 5+ years of experience as a Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or Technical Standard Order (TSO) Certification Specialist
- 5+ years of experience working in aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industry
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Level 5: 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 9+ years of experience leading software development projects
- Current Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or Technical Standard Order (TSO) Certification Specialist
- Experience with concurrent software and distributed systems
- 9+ years' experience developing, documenting and maintaining architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
- Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
- Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
- Experience using common software version control tools such as Git
- Experience with Agile planning tool such as JIRA, TSF

Summary Pay Range Senior (Level 4) - $158,100 - $213,900
Summary Pay Range Lead (Level 5) - $190,400 - $257,600
