Position Responsibilities

As a Sr Principal Software Architect at Deltek, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical vision and architecture of our software solutions. You will be responsible for designing robust systems, specifying both functional and non-functional requirements, and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. This is a strategic position that collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that support Deltek's mission of empowering project-based businesses.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and review of complex software systems and architectures.
• Specify functional and non-functional requirements for projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools to enhance product capabilities.
• Ensure architectural integrity, scalability, and security across all software solutions.
• Mentor and guide development teams in best practices and architectural standards.
• Conduct architectural reviews and provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in system design and implementation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in system design and review for enterprise-level software.
• Proven ability to specify and document functional and non-functional requirements.
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles and patterns.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated leadership in technical decision-making and project delivery.
• Experience with cloud-based architecture and microservices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of emerging technologies relevant to enterprise software.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Prior experience with mentoring technical teams.
