Position Summary

The Social Media Manager owns CLOC's social media presence and grows its audience across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. LinkedIn is CLOC's primary channel.

You will execute on the social media strategy, build out the calendar, create and publish content, and run paid social campaigns. You will measure how social activity turns into event registrations, program enrollments, and new members, and use that data to decide what to do next.

This role works closely with Events, Learning & Engagement, and Membership teams.

Key responsibilities

Social strategy and audience growth

  • Own and execute on CLOC's annual social media plan, with goals for follower growth, reach, and conversions.
  • Define the role of each channel and adjust the mix based on performance.
  • Grow CLOC's LinkedIn following and test new formats on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
  • Identify new audiences in legal operations and related fields, and plan content to reach them.
  • Run advocacy programs that help members, volunteers, speakers, and staff share CLOC content.


Content and publishing

  • Plan and manage the social content calendar across events, education programs, research, and membership.
  • Write posts in CLOC's voice and brand standards.
  • Produce short-form video, carousels, and graphics.
  • Turn reports, blog posts, session recordings, and event moments into social content.
  • Lead onsite social coverage at CLOC's annual conference and major events. Some travel required.


Paid social

  • Plan and manage paid campaigns on LinkedIn to drive registrations, enrollments, and membership.
  • Manage paid social budgets and track cost per registration and cost per lead.
  • Test audiences, creative, and messaging, and shift spend toward what performs.
  • Coordinate campaign timing and targeting with event marketing.


Audience response and listening

  • Oversee responses to comments, mentions, and direct messages.
  • Monitor conversations about legal operations, CLOC, and peer organizations.
  • Spot trends and plan content around them.
  • Set response guidelines and escalate issues that need leadership attention.


Analytics and reporting

  • Define social KPIs and track reach, follower growth, engagement rate, clicks, and conversions.
  • Connect social activity to registrations, enrollments, and membership using tracking links and CRM data.
  • Build monthly dashboards and share recommendations with Marketing leadership.
  • Provide social metrics for monthly Board reporting.
  • Benchmark CLOC's performance against peer associations.


Sponsor and partner amplification

  • Create social toolkits for speakers, sponsors, and partners.
  • Deliver sponsor social commitments and report results.
  • Coordinate cross-promotion with aligned associations and partners.


Tools and operations

  • Maintain social guidelines, response templates, and account access.
  • Direct the social work of contractors and support staff.
  • Manage tasks and approvals in CLOC's project management system and marketing software.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least four years of social media experience, including two or more managing social for a brand or organization.
  • Record of growing an audience on LinkedIn, with results you can share.
  • Experience running paid social campaigns on LinkedIn and Meta.
  • Experience producing short-form video.
  • Working knowledge of LinkedIn, Meta, and Google Analytics.
  • Experience with marketing enablement software like HubSpot.
  • Association experience is a plus. Legal industry experience is not required.


Base Salary range of $77k-96k plus benefits (including 5% 401k safe harbor contribution) and eligibility for bonus compensation up to 10% of base.
