Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide support to all areas of the plant in the development/maintenance of controlled documents for Seward's Quality system and improvement of the manufacturing process. Participate in formal problem-solving activities, when required. Participate in continuous improvement in product quality, cost, and customer satisfaction to ensure the Quality Department meets assigned goals for the year. Assist the management of and drive compliance to the external and internal audit requirements. Support theCenter of Excellence teams with any assigned actions. Must be able to work professionally with all plant disciplines. Individual needs to be self-motivated, aggressive to meet deadlines and able to work well with others.

Supervise technicians, PPAP coordinators or other document controllers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Document Control (Internal and External)
  • Assist in development and maintenance of all line manual documentation from draft to controlled status (process flow diagrams, control plans, process FMEAs, team member instructions, gage instructions, set up instructions, error proof instructions, etc.) through change process and production floor management.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and improvement of procedures and documents in accordance with IATF standards and CSRs.
  • Manage document revisions, approvals, and obsolescence.

2. Ensuring QMS Stability
  • Maintain and update Management Responsibility and QMS structure procedures.
  • Assist with APQP deployment and Change Process to ensure alignment with core documentation.
  • Update the Plant Process Map. Ensure relevant KPIs are identified for each process.
  • Navigate Tenneco SharePoint for TGDP, Global Quality Manual, Quality Policy, Internal Auditor Certifications, and CQI-15.
  • Communicate new and updated corporate policies and procedures.
  • Document process and procedure interactions with relevant clauses.
  • Implement Process Identification Cards (PIDs) and Turtle Diagrams.
  • Monitor and correct action registers for plant KPIs that miss targets.
  • Provide input and data for management review, covering all required inputs.
  • Participate in 8D/problem-solving meetings (TIPS) and support corrective action implementation.


3. Internal Audit Program Management (Systems, Process, Product)
  • Maintain the audit schedule, adjusting based on risk assessments and ensuring all clauses are covered within a 3-year cycle.
  • Review internal audit reports for quality, ensuring complete coverage of all clauses, including CSRs.
  • Update and maintain the audit finding action register.
  • Act as lead auditor/audit mentor, providing direction and removing roadblocks for auditors.
  • Maintain the internal auditor listing, ensuring training on new CSRs, Core Tools, and standard releases.


4. External Audit Activity
  • Serve as the liaison with TUV SUD auditor.
  • Verify the implementation and effectiveness of prior corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and submit required pre-audit documentation.
  • Ensure proper meeting rooms and calendar time are booked according to the audit schedule.
  • Identify and capture opportunities for improvement during the audit.
  • Collect, coordinate, and submit audit evidence to the auditor.
  • Manage corrective action tracking, completion, and submission for all findings, including CARA system entry.


5. Manage LPA/Ease Beacon
  • Maintain the audit schedule.
  • Oversee audit completions.
  • Track mitigations to closure.
  • Report KPIs using data provided in Ease Beacon and Power BI.


6. Quality Orientation/Onboarding
  • Provide quality orientation and onboarding as necessary.


ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain revision histories and master lists

2. Maintain all externally controlled documents

3. Communicate all changes made to documents that affect IATF system

CRITICAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Understanding of the Quality Operating System Methodology
  • Understanding of the 8D Methodology.
  • Good computer skills (Excel, Word, Visio, Customer Databases, SAP, Internet).
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Office environment - includes, but not limited to, artificial lighting, computers, telephones, desks, temperature controlled.
  • Manufacturing environment - includes, but not limited to, artificial lighting, machine/equipment noise, some welding exhaust, non-controlled temperatures, and PPE required.
  • Some travel which could include an overnight stay.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to sit frequently for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move about the plant in both the office and manufacturing areas.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
  • Manual dexterity for computer work
  • Ability to communicate in an effective/professional manner.
