Production Maintenance Planner -  1st Shift – Casa Grande, AZ


The Opportunity


This position works out of our Casa Grande, Arizona location in the Abbott Nutrition division. Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. What You’ll Do

 

  • Maintain and improve work order documentation within plant maintenance systems, including calibrations, preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), and corrective work orders.
  • Conduct field assessments of work orders to determine job scope, required materials, labor, equipment, and sequencing.
  • Estimate labor hours and resources needed to complete maintenance activities.
  • Prepare job plans, schematics, material lists, tool requirements, and safety documentation.
  • Develop and maintain labor standards for maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate procurement of stocked and non-stocked spare parts to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Expedite parts delivery and ensure proper inventory management and storage practices.
  • Maintain accurate spare parts data and inventory records in partnership with the storeroom.
  • Monitor and update maintenance systems, including PM and PdM programs and scheduled work orders.
  • Review, prioritize, and distribute maintenance work orders across all shifts.
  • Communicate with internal customers to schedule maintenance activities and coordinate equipment availability.
  • Support maintenance activities during weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and off-shifts, including coordination of contractors and plant personnel as needed.
  • Provide hands-on maintenance support during emergencies or staffing shortages when required.
  • Verify completed work for quality, compliance, and adherence to maintenance standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between Maintenance, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other departments to support maintenance planning and execution.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and maintenance records.
  • Monitor contractors, vendors, and external service providers to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, GMP, and engineering standards.

 

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Associates degree in Technical Field; trade school coursework/experience or equivalent education or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Must be able to understand and use both simple and complex instructions, read and write both simple and complex directions, understand routine and complex machine operation and read and operate gauges and instruments.
  • Must possess good mathematical skills and possess a good understanding of technical level thinking in field of planning (i.e. electrical, mechanical, facilities).
  • Good interpersonal skills, customer service orientation and feedback are important to this position.

The base pay for this position is

$29.55 – $59.05/hour

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
