At West Roxbury Health & Rehabilitation Center, our rehabilitation team plays a meaningful role in helping residents regain confidence, independence, and the ability to participate fully in daily life.

We are seeking a compassionate and clinically driven Registered Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our rehabilitation team and provide individualized therapy services to residents with communication, cognitive, swallowing, and functional challenges.

Responsibilities Why This Role Matters

Speech Language Pathologists at Bear Mountain help residents improve communication, cognitive function, swallowing safety, and overall quality of life through individualized, evidence-based therapy.

As a Registered Speech Language Pathologist, you will:

Resident-Centered Therapy & Clinical Care
  • Evaluate residents and develop individualized treatment plans based on their communication, cognitive, swallowing, and functional needs
  • Provide skilled speech therapy services in accordance with physician orders, professional standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Implement therapeutic interventions designed to improve communication, cognition, swallowing function, and independence
  • Complete timely assessments, screenings, progress notes, and clinical documentation
  • Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment approaches to support meaningful outcomes
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies to support continued progress and success
Collaboration & Quality Outcomes
  • Partner with nursing, rehabilitation professionals, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to support resident-centered care
  • Participate in care planning and discharge planning activities
  • Communicate effectively regarding resident progress, treatment goals, and recommendations
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive therapy environment
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and facility goals
Professional Excellence
  • Maintain compliance with ethical, regulatory, and professional standards of practice
  • Protect resident privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements
  • Maintain required licenses, certifications, and continuing education requirements
  • Promote dignity, respect, and positive interactions with residents, families, and team members
From Up to Qualifications

SLP: Speech-Language Pathologist:

  • M.A. or M.S. Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an approved school required.
  • State license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist required.
  • Clinical Competence Certification from the American Speech and Hearing Association preferred.
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing required.
  • Current, valid CPR/BLS credential.
  • Qualities of maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with others required.
  • Verification of qualifications by the State Department of Health
  • Rehabilitation Therapies (license number/certification number) required.
  • Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence required.
