Job DescriptionYou will be the Skunk Works Subsystem Design Engineer for the Advanced Development Programs (Skunk Works®) which is responsible for pioneering aerospace subsystem innovations.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Skunk Works Subsystem Design Engineer you will be responsible for delivering high-performance subsystem solutions from concept through production. Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop, test, and validate new and modified subsystem designs.
- Troubleshoot system malfunctions to determine root cause and corrective action.
- Create and maintain 3-D CATIA models, assemblies, installations, system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures and statements of work.
- Create system requirements, trade studies, sub-component and flight test plans.
- Coordinate with suppliers, internal and external integrated product teams, management and the customer.

Further Information About This OpportunityMUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical
- Experience with 3DX, CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX, or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool
- Experience creating and/or modifying drawings
- Experience with aircraft subsystem design, installation, and troubleshooting
- Hands on engineering experience
- Ability to to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance per business requirements
Desired skills- Experience with hand analysis for initial part layout
- Experience with metallic design
- Experience with tubing and equipment installation
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Active Secret Clearance
- 3 years of professional experience; or 1 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree

Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $70,100 - $123,625. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
