Job Summary

The Station Manager - Tank Farm Operations is responsible for leading, developing, and driving the overall strategic direction and business plan for Swissport's jet fuel storage and distribution facility at San José International Airport (SJC). This role orchestrates an ongoing planning process which produces a clear and compelling vision and mid- to long-term business objectives for comprehensive tank farm operations.

This position directs all aspects of day-to-day fuel storage facility operations at the station level, including fuel receiving, storage tank management, fuel quality control, inventory reconciliation, distribution infrastructure, and environmental compliance. The role ensures efficiency and performance in accordance with corporate objectives, strategy, and plans while maintaining the highest standards of safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.

IMPORTANT: This position is responsible exclusively for tank farm operations, including fuel storage, quality control, and distribution infrastructure. This role does NOT include responsibility for into-plane fueling operations.

The expected pay rate is $135,000 - $155,000/yr. Full-time employees are offered a range of health and wellness benefits as well as 401(k) with company match paid vacation time, sick time, and company paid holidays.

Your activities
  • Oversee all daily operations of the jet fuel tank farm, including fuel receiving, storage, quality control, inventory management, and fuel distribution systems.
  • Manage fuel receiving operations from suppliers via pipeline, truck delivery, or other transport methods.
  • Coordinate with into-plane fueling contractors to ensure seamless fuel supply and distribution.
  • Oversee maintenance programs for storage tanks, piping systems, hydrant networks, pumps, and associated equipment.
  • Manage tank inspection programs including internal inspections, API 653 compliance, and structural integrity assessments.
  • Implement and oversee comprehensive fuel quality control procedures in accordance with ASTM D1655, ATA Spec 103, etc.
  • Investigate and resolve fuel quality incidents, contamination events, or specification failures.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, measurement variances, or losses.
  • Coordinate with fuel procurement team on delivery schedules and inventory optimization.
  • Direct the preparation of operating budgets and proposals for capital expenditure and investments in tank farm infrastructure, technology, equipment (storage tanks, pipeline systems, quality testing equipment, environmental monitoring systems), or other assets and resources.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and facility inspections.
  • Ensure full compliance with EPA regulations, state environmental requirements, and local ordinances.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing fuel storage facilities
  • Lead, guide, evaluate, and develop a team with operational responsibilities, including tank farm supervisors, operators, quality control technicians, maintenance personnel, and administrative staff.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with all key stakeholders.

Your profile

  • Excellent working knowledge of business management principles and practices, financial concepts, and key drivers of profitability and operational performance.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with P&L responsibility and fuel storage facility operations management
  • Fluent spoken and written English
