Vaxcom Services LLC (a Parsons company) is looking for a talented armed Site Security Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to lead the security operations of a team of armed security officers and a Site Supervisor at a sensitive site that is located in Washington, D.C. Please note: this position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain the armed security officer certification and medical clearance issued by the District of Columbia to work/operate in the city.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Leading a team of armed security officers and the Site Supervisor in their day-to-day operations between the hours of approximately 5:00am - 1:00pm, Mon-Fri. (Night, weekend, and holiday hours may occasionally be required). Please note the facility is staffed/operated 24/7.
  • Ensuring that your team controls access to facility by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting vehicles, and ensuring all personnel entering the site have the proper identification. This includes performing security patrols of the site via foot, bike, or vehicle as appropriate.
  • Ensuring that your team responds to situations on site using the appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response by following established Use of Force Policy.
  • Ensuring that your team responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents that may occur during day or night.
  • Observing and reporting incidents or suspicious activity.
  • Overseeing the execution of the program management plan and Statement of Work (SOW)/Work Order.
  • Ensuring that your team maintains proficiency and safety in the use of all assigned equipment, control devices, and weapon systems.
  • Enforcing Post Orders, company/Customer rules, and facility regulations.
  • Completing mandatory training and recertification programs annually.
  • Assisting company management in maintaining and enhancing program performance over time including identifying and implementing cost-saving measures that are more efficient.
  • Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting metrics for the company, Customer, and other stakeholders, as required.
  • Acting as a resource to managers and employees in the program and customer organization, with problem solving skills.
  • Maintaining and building relationships with the Customer and other stakeholders.
  • May assist with recruitment efforts when needed.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned for this location/facility.


What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • College Degree with 4+ years experience in either law enforcement, department of corrections, commercial security, or the US Military; or, high school diploma with 8+ years of related armed security experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Proven track record in managing a security related team/element/project with exceptional problem solving abilities, and experience with advanced or up-to-date security technologies.
  • Experience interacting with senior representatives from both your own organization and those from customers/stakeholders whom you support.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact professionally, effectively, and successfully with individuals at all levels of an organization, building strong working relationships, and communicating with confidence and respect.
  • Experience in providing constructive mentoring and feedback in a tactful and professional manner in order to improve the level of performance of those on the team.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in interpreting, implementing, and applying company policies and procedures.
  • Experience working with sensitive clients at their sites.
  • Eligibility to maintain all District of Columbia armed security officer certifications, including annual qualifications for handgun and patrol rifle (as required); and related medical clearance/certification (as required).
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to pivot when changes are required.
  • Must possess an active SECRET level security clearance at the time of application.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
  • 10+ years experience as an armed security officer.
  • 3+ years experience as a supervisor/manager of 10+ people in a security environment.
  • 2+ years experience in either law enforcement, Department of Corrections or the US Military.
  • Experience working with staffing, schedules, and time and attendance reporting.
  • Experience working with US government employees and contractors.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED or other emergency response certifications.
  • In depth knowledge of security systems (e.g. CCTV, access control, alarm systems, etc.)
  • Experience writing/editing/reviewing incident documentation reports to be presented to leadership elements.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Highly desired to have experience with security weapons systems to include: Glock handgun, AR-15/M-4 patrol rifle, and shotgun.


Security Clearance Requirement:
An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.

Salary Range: $88,400.00 - $154,700.00
