What this job involves: The Site Security Manager is the on-site leader of the physical security program at Barber Lake, reporting to the Director of Physical Security Operations. This hands-on leadership role owns the development, execution, and oversight of all site security operations-24/7/365-from guard force coordination and SOP enforcement to compliance with lease and customer contractual requirements. You will serve as the primary on-site point of contact for the customer's security organization, manage the contracted guard force vendor through the Guard Force Account Manager, and ensure every operational element-visitor processing, government official protocol, incident response-is executed in full alignment with lease obligations and Cipher Digital security standards. This role requires daily movement across the site, partnering with the Site Operations Director, Security Technology team, Compliance & Audit team, and customer security stakeholders to solve problems and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Lead all on-site physical security operations, translating lease and customer contractual security requirements into operational reality while ensuring every SLA, control, and obligation is met
  • Manage the contracted guard force vendor relationship through the on-site Guard Force Account Manager by setting performance expectations, KPIs, and quality standards, and conducting routine post inspections, shift observations, and SOP audits
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for customer security stakeholders, leading security walkthroughs, audits, joint operational reviews, and preparing Monthly and Quarterly Business Review (MBR/QBR) content
  • Oversee the end-to-end visitor management process and conduct access reviews of all personnel with site or Tenant Space access, ensuring all access provisioning meets contractual SLAs
  • Lead on-site response coordination for all security incidents and emergencies, ensuring incident notification within the contractual 4-hour SLA and delivering formal written incident reports within 72 hours
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve site-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) covering visitor management, access control, emergency access, government official protocol, and incident response
  • Partner with the Security Systems team on system design, deployment, and commissioning, and oversee day-to-day operational use of access control, CCTV/VMS, visitor management, and SOC platforms

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in security operations management, preferably in a data center, critical infrastructure, or high-security commercial environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing contracted guard force vendors (Securitas, Allied Universal, or equivalent)
  • Experience operating security programs in dynamic environments such as active construction, customer move-in, multi-tenant facilities, or 24/7 operations
  • Track record of building and managing customer-facing security programs with formal SLAs and contractual obligations
  • Proficiency with security reporting tools, ticketing platforms (ServiceNow), and standard productivity software
  • Working knowledge of access control systems (Genetec or equivalent) and CCTV/VMS platforms
  • Ability to physically stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, with capability to walk extended distances on the data center campus and respond rapidly to incidents on foot

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with ability to operate calmly under operational pressure and competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, comfortable presenting to executive leadership and customer stakeholders
  • Solid troubleshooting skills for operational problems and basic security equipment
  • Detail-oriented with capability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Initiative-driven, results-focused, and accountable with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with customers, vendors, and direct reports


Work Shift: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, with on-call availability for after-hours incidents and emergencies
Travel: Minimal (under 5%), may increase periodically as the business evolves
