Role Description:- Under general direction, this position is responsible for maintaining development, testing, and production environments.
- Builds and deploys automation, monitoring, and analysis solutions.
- Manages continuous integration and delivery pipeline to maximize efficiency.
- Implements industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management.
- Develops and maintains solutions for operational administration, system/data backup, disaster recovery, and security/performance monitoring.
- Continuously evaluates existing systems with industry standards, and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Builds and maintains tools, solutions and microservices associated with deployment and our operations platform, ensuring that all meet our customer service standards and reduce errors.
- Tests system integrity, implemented designs, application developments and other processes related to infrastructure, making improvements as needed.
- Manages code deployments, fixes, updates and related processes.
- Works with open-source technologies as needed.
- Works with CI/ CD tools, and source control such as GIT and SVN.
- Offers technical support where needed, developing software for our back-end systems.
- Stays current with industry trends and source new ways for our business to improve.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- To be eligible for this position you must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- SENIOR (VA): Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in computer science, information system or related discipline and progressive software development experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, seven or more years of experience with a masters degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- Experience with deployment technologies, such as Kubernetes (K8s) for container orchestration.
- Experience with metrics monitoring and dashboards (Grafana).
- Understanding of user access practices and security controls within a system.
- Understanding of system administration in various OS environments.
- Strong knowledge of configuration management tools.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle best practices.
- Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Able to work extended hours as required.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:- Understanding of AWS services and cloud management.
- Experience executing against database technologies.
- Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet).
- Continuous integration processes and tools such as Jenkins.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaboration tools.
- System monitoring and analysis.
- Familiarity with Intelligence Community and DoD mission sets.
- CompTIA Security+ certification or willingness to get certified.
Pay Rate:In compliance with Virginia's Equal Pay for Equal Work law, the annual base salary range for this position is $180,000 - $230,000. This range represents the base pay for this role and is provided in accordance with Maryland's requirements to disclose compensation in job postings. Please note that actual compensation may vary based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's qualifications, experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market conditions. In addition to base salary, candidates hired into this position may be eligible for a hiring bonus of $10,000.00, subject to applicable contingencies and Navstar policy.
