Full Job Description
What You'll Do: As a Site Quality Manager, you'll support Site Project and Corporate Quality in the development and implementation of all quality related procedures and processes.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for promoting a safe working environment and setting an example for field personnel.
  • Attend Morning Huddles.
  • Conducts periodic Safety Observations and report findings to Site Safety Staff.
  • Recommends actions for improvement of the safety associated with the Scope of Work.
  • Develop a good working relationship with Project team (Management and Field).
  • Develop a good working relationship with job Inspectors/Owners.
  • Assist/Direct Project team in proper storage requirement procedures for all onsite materials.
  • Assist/Direct Project team in proper maintenance requirements for all onsite equipment.
  • Assist/Direct Project team in the collection, tracking and filing the required data to ensure compliance with governing Specifications/Codes.
    • Create turnover packages.
    • Job specific pre-pour checklist such as Weld mapping and Maintenance logs Including:
  • Rotation Logs, Lubrication Logs, Blow down Logs, Alignment logs, and Storage Logs.
  • Answer Code and Specification related questions.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and/or test welders for BEC Projects.
  • Maintain all welder certifications & continuity records for appointed projects o Forward information to the Corporate Office.
  • Assist Corporate Quality Manager in the development and qualification of welding procedures.
  • Assist in the execution of Coded repairs per the Quality Manual and applicable Code.
  • Conduct random audits, as specified by the Corporate Office, for compliance and adherence to BEC's Quality Program. Utilize the data collected from these audits to assist field operations in determining appropriate improvements.
  • Coordinate and conduct quality training for field staff.
  • Assist Corporate Quality Manager in the development and revision of BEC's Quality Program.
  • Conduct source inspections of vendors and subcontractors.
  • Ensure vendors and subcontractors are in compliance with project specifications.
  • Review bid documents and provide recommendations to the project team that comply with BEC's Program, client requirements, manufactures recommends and applicable Code.
  • Responsible for educating project team.
  • Ensure adherence to the Quality Program.
  • Witness and document all testing activities o Example - pneumatic, hydrostatic and vacuum testing.
  • Perform and/or manage required NDE.
  • Attend required meetings and participate in audits.
  • Complete daily, weekly Quality Reports. Discuss with Team frequency of Site reports (e.g. Raken or Equal)
  • Complete monthly Quality Report to Corporate o Submit monthly reports NLT the last working day of the month.
  • Ensure each project stays within specifications.
  • When specifications are not met, work with Project team and owner to develop a solution.
  • Complete NCR's and SPR's as required and assist team with Quality Short creation.
  • Ownership of 999 rework reports, reviewed weekly, place action plan when over a 10th of 1 percent of contract value, work with Team and then Corporate.
  • Internal NCR/CAR and Challenge call process per 3A-305.
  • Responsible for Quality's and all CSI Divisions (Site Work, Concrete, Mechanical, etc.)
  • Assist the Quality Champion in all duties.
  • Develop a QC reward program (e.g. Don't Be a Spectator/ DBAS program)
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • CWI Certification - preferred
  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management or Industrial Technology
  • 10 Years of experience in the construction industry with a minimum of 3 years "hands-on" field experience (preferably in heavy industrial)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience working with Project teams, Subcontractors and Owners/Clients
  • Interpretation of construction documents experience
  • Previous experience researching corrective options and ability to make recommendations
  • NACE, ACI, ASNT and other certification - preferred
GENERAL GUIDELINES RELATED TO ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITES
  • Attend End of Shift (EOS)
  • Support KPI process, tie to Department and Corporate One Page Plan
  • Conduct Quality Orientations related to Site Specific task by trade
  • Best Practices (e.g. Site orientation modules)
  • Participate in Site team building exercises. Look at Department team building when working with 2 or more inspectors.
  • 4 week look ahead boards to include QA/QC milestones ? Review PTO with Team before submitting.
  • Monthly Top level Quality reviews with General Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • P6 Schedule around CTO, implement CTO count down program.
  • Daily Presence in the Field, Preferred 25%+, no less than 10%, special conditions review with Site Management.
  • Quality Vision - Zero defects by way or a Quality Management System that supports Bowen's long-term goals.
