Description

Position Overview:

The Customer Site Leader is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and execution of on-site activities throughout project delivery, installation, commissioning, and final handover to the customer. This role serves as the single point of contact for the customer at the project site and ensures safe, efficient, and compliant execution by aligning Site Management, Project Management, Engineering, Commissioning, Service, contractors, and customer requirements.

This position will be based at our Houston, TX office and requires approximately 90% travel to project sites. Ten (10) days on / four (4) days off rotation and will work hours aligned with project operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day on-site activities throughout project execution, installation, commissioning, punch-list completion, and final handover to the customer
  • Serve as the primary on-site customer interface, ensuring clear, consistent, and professional communication, aligned expectations, and timely resolution of requests, concerns, and escalations
  • Provide functional leadership to site personnel and coordinate the work of Site Management, Engineering, Commissioning, Validation, Material Management, Scheduling, contractors, and other project partners; this role does not have direct reports
  • Drive cross-functional alignment between Project Management, Service, Engineering, Commissioning, EHS, Quality, contractors, and third-party suppliers to support smooth site execution and avoid gaps in ownership
  • Maintain oversight across all project phases and multiple engine or equipment workstreams, ensuring installation and commissioning activities remain aligned with project milestones and customer commitments
  • Take overall responsibility for safe, efficient, and compliant site operations in accordance with EHS standards, legal requirements, quality expectations, and internal procedures
  • Coordinate technical issue resolution with Engineering and Project Management, including design clarifications, missing or damaged parts, technical changes, deviations, and execution risks
  • Provide leadership oversight of commissioning activities through close cooperation with commissioning personnel, ensuring work is properly planned, staffed, tracked, documented, and reported
  • Lead regular internal coordination meetings and customer site meetings, communicate daily priorities, and follow through on actions, risks, dependencies, and escalations
  • Ensure site documentation, progress reporting, punch-list items, and handover records are complete, accurate, high quality, and maintained in an audit-ready state
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Industrial Management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant work experience will be considered
  • Several years of experience in site execution, commissioning, project delivery, or engineering coordination, including experience leading commissioning activities and managing projects or major site workstreams
  • Experience with engines, generators, gas compression equipment, or comparable industrial machinery used in field installation, commissioning, or maintenance environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Willingness to travel approximately 90% to domestic project sites and internationally as business demands
  • Valid driver's license and valid passport, or willingness to obtain a passport if not currently held
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Technical knowledge of reciprocating engines, gas or diesel engines, compressors, turbines, generators, power generation equipment, or comparable industrial equipment
  • Knowledge of project controls, scheduling, risk management, and cross-functional coordination required to support successful project delivery
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers, contractors, engineering and service teams, and project leadership
  • Proven ability to prioritize activities, resolve conflicts, and coordinate multiple workstreams in a fast-paced site environment
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority while maintaining alignment on project objectives and site priorities
  • Ability to identify execution risks, make sound decisions under pressure, and drive timely resolution of technical and operational issues
  • Work is performed in a combination of customer site locations, industrial facilities, power generation plants, construction environments, and home office or corporate office settings
  • Frequent exposure to varying weather conditions, industrial equipment, elevated noise levels, and active construction or manufacturing environments may occur
  • Ability to walk, climb stairs and ladders, and navigate industrial and construction site environments
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with site safety requirements
  • Ability to visually inspect equipment, read technical documents, and operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to travel extensively by automobile and commercial aircraft
