Overview

Employment in this role is conditional upon successful execution of the contract by the client.

The Work

The Site Manager provides site-level leadership, operational oversight, and mission continuityensuring the successful execution of operations and maintenance (O&M) responsibilities. This rolewill demonstrate a proven ability to lead a multidisciplinary team, foster workforce integration, maintain smooth communication with government stakeholders, and provide decision authority for after-hours situations. This role requires technical expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage operations in a remote and challenging environment.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all contractor personnel andO&Mfunctions at the assigned.

  • Ensure staffing coverage across all shifts and maintain high-performing operational teams.

  • Maintain operational mission continuity, ensuring compliance with all safety, security, quality, logistics, facilities, and staff requirements.

  • Proactively coordinate with host-installation entities for mission readiness, inspections, and operational support.

  • Serve as the on-site interface to local and external government customers, building effective working relationships and responding promptly to performance issues, outages, inspections, or emergency situations.

  • Act as the primary decision-maker and escalation authority for after-hours needs, including mission-driven or emergency responses.

  • Ensure seamless integration and communication across quality, security, logistics, facilities, emergency response, and other cross-functional areas to support successful operations.

  • Support cross-training efforts within the management team to ensure proper coverage for all critical functions.

  • Oversee and coordinate technical and bargaining-unit activities but generally refrain from regularly executing those tasks unless qualified and authorized.

  • Comply with all range, safety, security, and access requirements associated with the remote desert/range site on White Sands Missile Range.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, operations, business, space operations, or a related field preferred.

  • Equivalent senior military or technical operations leadership experience may be accepted.

  • A minimum of 8 years in technical operations or mission O&M, including at least 3 years of experience leading a site, detachment, shift organization, or comparable workforce.

  • Demonstrated success in site-level leadership, incident management, and performance oversight in mission-critical environments.

  • Top Secret/ SCI Clearance is required.

  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Demonstrated expertise in staff management, training, customer relations, and dynamic problem-solving in high-stress scenarios.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred certifications may include Project Management Professional (PMP), facilities/safety credentials, mission-operations certifications, or qualifications in quality management.

  • Experience in ensuring seamless operational performance under resource-constrained environments or remote/detached operations.

Reports to:Program Manager

Working Conditions

  • Remote desert and range environment with limited immediate services and facilities.

  • Exposure to extreme environmental conditions, including high temperatures during the day, cold temperatures at night, wind, dust storms, and other weather-related challenges.

  • Working in operational and technical spaces such as equipment rooms and maintenance areas.

  • Use of stairs and ladders is often required to access certain areas of the site or equipment.

  • Operating in confined spaces with strict adherence to safety protocols.

  • 24/7 operational readiness, with an expectation of occasional after-hours support for incidents, exercises, deadlines, and travel obligations.

  • Must safely operate in proximity to sensitive and classified optical, mechanical, and electrical systems.

  • Physically and mentally capable of extended work periods, including responding to incidents, performing tests, and adhering to operational readiness requirements.

  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.

  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.

  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.

  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.

  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
