Full Job Description
The Muskegon Danaher Business Systems (DBS) Leader is a facilitative leader accountable for process improvements yielding bottom-line productivity and improved delivery. The position oversees lean transformation within a plant that is currently under construction. You will be expected to help develop and sustain a lean culture using various DBS tools with focus on achieving world class safety and manufacturing performance. You will be a leader with expertise in lean manufacturing, overall operations management, and plant transformations.

This position reports to the Director, Manufacturing & Site, Resin & Technologies and is part of the local DBS org located in Muskegon, MI and will be an on-site role.

What you'll do:
  • Provide leadership for the deployment and integration of the Danaher Business System (DBS) across the site, ensuring DBS activities, daily management, Bowler execution, and continuous improvement initiatives are aligned with annual business plans, strategic priorities, and customer requirements to deliver sustainable business results.
  • Develop the Kaizen funnel in conjunction with leadership, lead workshops and kaizen events for the construction schedule, new factory start-up, product lines and in support of product relocations. Apply Lean tools to compress schedules, eliminate waste, improve process capability and reduce process and product variation.
  • Drive institutionalization of Lean methodology to achieve a culture of continuous improvement through data-based decision making, structured problem solving, kaizen principles, and a relentless focus on safety, quality, delivery, and customer success.
  • Develop, maintain and drive the site Certified Practitioner (CP) funnel providing support to CP candidates through the process.
  • Lead and support various fact-based problem-solving sessions using DBS tools and long term follow up to assure sustainment of results.


Who you are:
  • Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Science, Technology, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering) and 7+ years' previous experience in a related manufacturing setting.
  • Possess a proven strong ability to work with associates at all levels utilizing a hands-on approach at GEMBA while maintaining a connection to the bigger picture.
  • A proven track record facilitating/coordinating/coaching and mentoring lean workshop/kaizen events utilizing various tools
  • Strong capability to lead organizational change through the deployment of Lean thinking and Lean-based management systems, supported by effective oral, written, and executive-level presentation skills.
  • Ability to independently drive results through analytical problem-solving, effective change management, and sound financial decision-making.


It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences or batch chemical, petrochemical experience.
  • Change agent with strong credibility and influence.
  • A3 thinking deployment and experience.


Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
  • Frequent walking, bending, stooping, and carrying materials up to 25 lbs; occasional use of stairs up to 4 stories and use of straight ladders up to 20 feet.
  • Working in the field will require the applicant to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and other necessary PPE for several hours/duration of their field time.
  • Some exposure to high noise areas is expected requiring the use of hearing protection such as ear plugs or earmuffs.
  • Ability to use a computer, including MS Excel, Outlook, and Word; and other job-related software for 8 hours a day.

The annual salary range for this role is $110,000.00 -135,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
