Full Job Description
As a Site Director at Microwave Products Group - Pole/Zero Corporation in West Chester, OH, you will be accountable for overall site performance, ensuring full execution of strategic plans and attainment of financial, operational, engineering, quality, and customer satisfaction goals. This position provides both direct and indirect leadership over a multidisciplinary team, building organizational capability aligned with the company's long-term direction. This highly visible leadership role operates in a fast paced, engineer-to-order and build-to--order B2B environment within the technology/defense sector.

The role is responsible for creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. The Site Director works across all functions and establishes clear priorities, removes roadblocks, ensures utilization of standard processes, and communicates action plans for any areas that fall short of expectations within a facility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Financial & Strategic Leadership
    • Accountable for achieving site-level revenue, EBIT, and cash flow targets through effective operations, disciplined execution, and proactive risk management
    • Develops and deploys annual operating plans, budgets, staffing plans, and KPIs; monitors progress and takes corrective action as needed
    • Contributes to MPG strategy through market insights, performance analysis, and competitive assessments
    • Reviews financial and operational reports to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges; takes timely action to address variances.
    • Approves and recommends CapEx within delegated authority, ensuring ROI and strategic alignment

Operational Excellence & Execution
    • Leads day-to-day operations across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and support functions to ensure safety, on-time delivery to plan (level load the factory) and promise (official OTD measurement), cost control, quality, and productivity
    • Coordinates with all functions including but not limited to Finance, Human Resources, and IT to ensure satisfactory delivery of operational and financial targets
    • Ensures consistent adherence to corporate policies, standard work, and regulatory requirements
    • Drives continuous improvement using lean, GDP, and data-driven problem-solving methodologies

Customer & Commercial Leadership
    • Partners closely with Business Development, Sales, Program Management, and Customer Service to ensure proactive communication, accurate delivery commitments, and high customer satisfaction
    • Supports commercial reviews, pricing considerations, proposal inputs, and new business evaluations
    • Ensures the site achieves commitments, minimizes customer escalations, and responds effectively when issues arise

Engineering & Product Development Collaboration
    • Works with Engineering leadership to enhance product capabilities, reduce costs, improve manufacturability, and support new product introductions
    • Encourages cross-functional alignment between Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to reduce cycle time and improve throughput

Leadership, Talent, and Culture
    • Maintains a high-performance culture based on respect, trust, transparency, and employee engagement
    • Assigns clear accountabilities, sets performance expectations, and ensures regular feedback, coaching, and performance reviews
    • Identifies, develops, and retains key talent; ensures succession planning for critical roles
    • Conducts regular site leadership team meetings across functional groups and maintains strong communication across all organizational levels

Compliance, Safety & Risk Management
    • Ensures all site activities meet company, legal, environmental, and industry specific regulatory requirements (e.g., ITAR, OSHA, CMMC, etc.)
    • Champions a strong safety culture with proactive mitigation and continuous improvement in EHS performance
    • Identifies and mitigates operational risks, supply chain vulnerabilities, and capacity constraints


Experience/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of combined commercial and operations experience, with at least 7 years in progressively responsible management roles in a high mix, mid-sized manufacturing or defense environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex operations and achieving financial, operational, and customer satisfaction targets
  • Strong capability in budgeting, resource planning, KPI management, and performance-based leadership
  • Proven ability to build teams, drive accountability, and develop organizational capability within a matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated integrity, ethical standards, and sound business judgment
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Decisive, timely, and data-driven decision maker with strong problem-solving abilities
