Duties, Responsibilities & Other

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team in Rock Hill, SC.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background with client and project management and have experience managing private and public and private civil/site development projects. 

 

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Serve on multiple project teams and support the development of the civil/site designs and drawings
  • Experience and familiarity with civil/site design and the land development process.  This role will involve the management of civil and land development projects, the internal project team, the clients, and the permitting and approval processes.
  • Responsible for project management, client interaction, and technical and fee proposal preparation within the designated engineering practice. Responsible for the management of projects, development of scopes and budgets, conducting engineering studies and preparing technical reports for a wide variety of high profile projects. Responsible for assisting the engineering practice leader in project budgets and technical deliverables, QA/QC reviews for project or task deliverables, technical and price proposals, communication and interaction with external and internal clients. Other duties will include marketing, business development and expansion of the engineering practice. 
  • Good communication, supervisory and mentoring skills, reliable, attention to details and accuracy are necessary. 
  • Successful candidate will have demonstrated business development and project management experience within the past 4-6 years. 
  • The candidate must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and the ability to work with a diverse team.       
  • 10+ years of experience is preferred

Qualifications

Education and/or Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 6 years of related professional experience, or 10 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience should include a track record of expanding project management duties.
  • Proven experience in project management roles, with a focus on managing larger-scale projects or programs.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills to manage contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements effectively.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles to effectively manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.

Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry)

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

  • Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training along with passing the PM Board within 6 months of start date.
