SIPF / Cooling Tower / Tanks Coordinator (Construction Coordinator)

Play an integral role in delivering safe, reliable, and efficient construction, maintenance, turnaround, and capital project execution across critical industrial assets. As the SIPF / Cooling Tower / Tanks Coordinator, you will serve as a vital link between planning and field execution, helping ensure that cooling tower, tank, scaffolding, insulation, painting, fireproofing, and coatings activities are effectively coordinated to achieve project objectives. Your technical expertise, organizational skills, and collaborative approach will support successful project delivery while driving safety, quality, productivity, and operational excellence.

Purpose of the role

The SIPF / Cooling Tower / Tanks Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of construction, maintenance, turnaround, and capital project activities associated with cooling towers, storage tanks, and related soft craft disciplines. This role combines technical expertise with field coordination responsibilities, ensuring work is properly planned, resources are aligned, stakeholders remain informed, and execution activities are carried out safely and efficiently.

Working closely with construction leadership, operations, engineering, maintenance, contractors, project controls, and customer representatives, you will help optimize project performance by facilitating communication, resolving execution challenges, and supporting the successful delivery of project objectives.

You will be responsible for:
  • Coordinating construction, maintenance, turnaround, and capital project activities involving cooling towers, storage tanks, scaffolding, insulation, coatings, fireproofing, and related soft craft disciplines.
  • Supporting project planning and execution activities from early development through field implementation and project completion.
  • Collaborating with construction management, engineering, maintenance, operations, project controls, and contractor teams to ensure alignment of project priorities and execution plans.
  • Reviewing work packages, drawings, specifications, and project documentation to support field readiness and execution success.
  • Assisting with the development of construction work plans, resource plans, and execution strategies.
  • Coordinating manpower requirements, equipment needs, material availability, and contractor support to maintain project schedules.
  • Monitoring field progress and identifying potential schedule, productivity, quality, or safety risks that may impact project performance.
  • Facilitating communication between field personnel, contractors, project teams, and customer stakeholders to promote effective collaboration.
  • Supporting workface planning and ensuring construction activities are executable prior to field release.
  • Tracking project performance metrics and providing updates, reports, and recommendations to project leadership.
  • Assisting in the resolution of field execution issues by coordinating with technical and operational stakeholders.
  • Promoting adherence to company policies, customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory obligations.
  • Supporting quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure work is completed in accordance with approved procedures and project requirements.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives designed to enhance safety, productivity, execution efficiency, and overall project performance.
  • Contributing technical expertise related to cooling towers, tanks, soft craft execution, maintenance planning, and industrial construction practices.

What you'll bring to the role
  • University degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent trade qualification combined with additional training and relevant industry experience.
  • Typically 5+ years of relevant experience with a university degree or 10+ years of relevant experience with a trade qualification.
  • Experience supporting industrial construction, maintenance, turnaround, shutdown, outage, or capital project execution activities.
  • Knowledge of cooling tower maintenance, repair, replacement, and construction methodologies.
  • Understanding of tank maintenance, coatings, inspections, integrity programs, and outage-related activities.
  • Familiarity with scaffold, insulation, coatings, fireproofing, and other soft craft construction disciplines.
  • Experience supporting construction planning, scheduling, resource coordination, and field execution activities within industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of construction systems, processes, tools, and project coordination practices.
  • Ability to make sound technical decisions while considering safety, quality, schedule, financial, operational, and environmental impacts.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment.
  • Proven ability to identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and support implementation of effective solutions.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build productive working relationships.
  • Experience preparing reports, presentations, progress updates, and technical documentation.
