Job Description:

Job Summary:

Coordinates and supervises the construction process from the conceptual development stage, through to final construction, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Responsible for oversight of multiple specialty areas and supervision of associated project superintendents and/or foremen.

Main Responsibilities:
• Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Simon Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
• Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
• Promote, execute, and adhere to the company's safety program, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors and consultants to adopt safe practices as part of Simon's safety culture; review safe work plans/HASP with crew prior to job commencement
• Ensure underground utility locates are completed and valid, and sites are safe for employees prior to performing work
• Work with project managers, and oversee organization and coordination crews, subcontractors, resources, and equipment, to ensure projects remain on time and on budget
• Set project weekly and/or daily production goals with foreman and review safety, job costs, daily productions with foreman and crew every day
• Allocate resources where appropriate to achieve project safety, schedule, cost, scope and quality objectives
• Provide direction to superintendents and/or foreman responsible for coordinating daily activities of assigned crew and equipment pertaining to scope of work, including holding individuals accountable
• Read and interpret project plans and specifications
• Understand, interpret, and follow surveying markers and plans including slope stakes, control points, lines, grades, GPS models etc.
• Engage in open communication with Project Managers, Operations Managers, and Construction Managers, and report any issues which could affect project plan, schedule, or budget
• Attend internal and external pre-construction meetings and project site meetings as required
• Oversee coordination of materials (concrete, asphalt, aggregates, underground utilities material) and ensure on-time delivery of materials to job sites
• Oversee and promote employee training, mentoring, and development; assist foreman in addressing performance concerns as needed
• Ensure equipment maintenance inspections are completed to maintain equipment in safe operating condition
• Complete and submit paperwork, reporting, and perform other administrative tasks related to project completion and/or employee supervision in a timely manner
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment

Education:
• Valid Drivers' License and ability to maintain a clean driving history required
• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred

Skills:
• 5+ years of experience in road, excavation, underground utilities, asphalt paving and/or related area
• 3+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity
• Solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry requirements
• Computer and/or mobile device proficiency, including use of MS Office, Android and iOS applications required

Physical Requirements:
• Wears and maintains required PPE (personal protective equipment) to ensure safe performance of job responsibilities as required
• Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds to handle materials, tools, and equipment essential job functions with or without assistance
• Regularly uses hands to feel, handle, and manipulate objects, write, and operate a keyboard and/or mobile device to complete administrative tasks and support project documentation
• Regularly communicates (talks and hears) and uses visual acuity to exchange information, coordinate work, and maintain safe and effective job-site operations
• Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches, and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls to access work areas and complete required tasks
• Frequently stands or works on feet for extended periods and walks across uneven terrain to navigate construction sites safely and effectively
• Frequently works in close proximity to heavy equipment and machinery to oversee field activities
• Frequently works in environments that may include loud noise, moving equipment, dust, or varying indoor/outdoor conditions depending on operational needs
• Occasionally experiences exposure to fuel, oil, and other chemicals associated with construction equipment and site activities
• Frequently climbs on and off equipment and walks across uneven terrain to navigate field sites safely
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends; overnight travel may be required
