Position: Signal Integrity EngineerLocation: Austin, TXAmphenol Cable Backplane System group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth integrated cable and connector systems for the AI/Machine Learning market not excluding (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a Signal Integrity Engineer with our CBS Team. The position will be located in Austin, Texas or based remotely.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Contribute to dedicated teams responsible for customer system development and support from concept to production.
- Develop integration and test strategies in support of new product introduction.
- Assist with providing solutions to customers across a wide range of sectors with their high speed data transmission requirements
- Design and evaluate next generation production test platforms.
- Support Production to ensure a high level test and measurement excellence.
- Support the internal Sales Engineers to develop strategies for product break-in at existing and new accounts based on signal integrity and electrical engineering expertise.
- Design, simulation, characterization, and application of high-speed electrical connectors and cable-based interconnect
- Share knowledge and pursue continuous improvement in methods and workflows.
- Design, build, and measure circuit boards for measurement and verification of products
- Apply circuit theory and high-speed digital transmission, PCB layout principles for high-speed digital design
QUALIFICATIONS: - BS in Electrical Engineering, MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- 3 years of industry experience with an understanding of electro-magnetic principles for digital signal integrity
- Experience in component design and application of high speed connectors into communications equipment is a plus
- Experience with signal integrity measurements and debugging with TDR, VNA, pattern generators, error detectors and similar measurement equipment.
- Experience with signal integrity and simulation/analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS and Designer, CST Microwave, HSPICE, MatLab, and ADS
- Hands-on experience with frequency-domain and time-domain component and circuit characterization including understanding of test and calibration methods
