Full Job Description
Your role

As a SHE Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our commitment to safety, health, and environmental excellence. Your primary responsibility will be the continuous monitoring, management, and enhancement of our SHE programs, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. As the subject matter expert in this area, you will direct your expertise to create a safer and more sustainable workplace. Reporting directly to the Senior SHE Engineer, you will collaborate across various departments to drive initiatives that protect our employees and the environment while promoting overall operational efficiency.

In your role, you will:

  • Assist in the maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO 14001 and 45001 management systems, contributing significantly to our sustainability efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations while promoting a culture of safety awareness throughout the organization.
  • Champion sustainability projects that minimize waste, conserve energy, reduce water consumption, and lower CO2 emissions.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review SHE policies, training content, and programs to foster a knowledgeable workforce.
  • Lead and manage investigations relating to accidents or near misses, ensuring that root causes are established, and preventative measures are enacted.


To succeed, you will need

  • A strong foundation in emergency preparedness and recovery planning.
  • Experience implementing facility emergency response systems efficiently.
  • A comprehensive understanding of safety and environmental regulations in the U.S., including MIOSHA and OSHA standards.


Required

Education or Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, complemented by 3-5 years of hands-on experience in EHS roles within a manufacturing environment; relevant professional certifications such as CSP, CHMM, or ASP will be highly regarded.

Physical Requirements (As Applicable):
  • Ability to navigate through the manufacturing facility safely and effectively.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional local, national, and international travel as required.
